My Kitchen Table

Few things make me happier than sitting at my kitchen table with friends and family, sharing ideas and laughing my head off. Anyone who has ever sat with me knows I can talk about and listen on any topic. I always learn. And yes, I’ve learned by making terrible mistakes as well. It’s far safer to sit and listen.

In the middle of the night, I dream posts. I’ve written thousands of blog posts at night and none get published because I was afraid of letting people know me.

It occurs to me, after listening to people and friends, that everyone has fears. They have these things they do or feel that they think nobody else feels or does. I love to tell them, “Hey, you’re not odd. You’re special and gifted. I love you just as is.”

Akesana was referred to by a friend as the “site that has no purpose”. My writers (new ones coming in!) are in this for the ride. We have no rules. I set no deadlines. Nobody has to share who they really are.

Because when we remove our masks, we breathe better.

Take a seat. And if you want to join in the discussion, please do with comments and the Scribble Wall to the right. This site will grow as my friends and I try out our ideas. This site has been months in the making and creating stages.

Today, it felt right to let you know.

I love to “laugh my head off”. In fact I would say that is my favorite activity. I’ve always enjoyed the times with friends and family that I laughed so hard my face and sides hurt. Those were the best times of my life.
