Why does it seem that defenders of the right to free speech are sometimes the same people who enjoy verbal and written attacks on people? What makes public commentators so vengeful, ugly and vile in their statements against fellow human beings?

What is this obvious preoccupation with wanting to be the winner at all costs? I’ve never understood hatred. Not even as a child. And not even as a child growing up with severe, painful, life altering situations.  There is always a choice – continue the pattern of smashing another human-soul to pieces or acting with love and a generous heart.

Freedom of speech seems to give people the go ahead to say whatever they want about someone and claim it to be the truth, while offering no credible proof. And people pay to read this stuff. Where I live, some stores cover up issues of Cosmo magazine to hide the bodies of the cover models, but they leave in full view “US”, “People”, “Star” and other publications that promote rumor, half-truths and made-up stories to sell ad space. Blogs do the same thing. A blog can publish any content, true and factual, scraped and stolen or one-sided and unproven, and earn money from their affiliate and paid ads.

The underlying poison in using freedom of speech as a free pass to say and write anything, regardless of the truth or proof, is the judgment of character by the person having the free for all. Commentators write and talk about people they’ve never met and think they have the freedom and right to not only pass judgment on them, but can write and say anything they wish and be backed by the Constitution of the USA.

Personal attacks are judgment calls and one person’s view. There are always many sides of an experience. Does Freedom of Speech give everyone the right to pass judgment and spread their agenda? Does the law make it right to purposely lie? Since we know that many people will never fact check or look at a story from a 360 degree perspective, is taking advantage of those people the loving to do?

Do Truth, Accuracy and Peaceful Co-existence matter at all anymore?

When I was raped, I kept it a secret because people say that a woman asks for it. I also know that men are believed and women are not. It doesn’t matter where you live, men rape women and they get away with it.

In Haiti, it’s hard to imagine that a girl or woman asks to be raped, on top of losing her home, family, children, money and is likely starving or injured. And yet, here we are. Women and Girls in Haiti Fear Rape in Makeshift Camps.

With more than a million left homeless after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, countless people are living in the capital’s makeshift camps and susceptible to violence, particularly women and girls.

Remember the woman who ran over her husband? Word is out that Psychology Today backs the murder because it was sweet revenge.

In the shockingly irresponsible article “Sweet Revenge” (Psychology Today, January/February 2010), Regina Barreca, Ph.D. praises convicted Texas killer Clara Harris for her “great moment of revenge.” The act for which Barreca praises Harris? In 2002, Harris repeatedly ran over her ex-husband David, as David’s daughter Lindsey sat in the front seat of the car begging Clara Harris not to kill her father.

Violence Against Women Treated Differently Than Violence Against Men

They say that in Haiti, the women there have been subjected to rape as part of their culture. It’s nothing new for a land of poverty. No one is held accountable. In America, tween sexuality is marketed to little girls and no one is held accountable. It wasn’t until one woman took a matter into her own hands and killed a man that the law stepped in.

When the violence was done against the male.

There is no middle ground. None. Dehumanize anyone who holds a different viewpoint, and then make your opponent or anyone who disagrees with you seem as filthy, evil, and depraved as you possibly can. Then pitch this image to the masses, distilled down into a few slogans and sound-bytes. Repeat these slogans and sound-bytes often enough, so that it’s akin to mass hypnosis. Maybe draw up some big posters and banners… When the movement grows big enough, make a flag! Continue to seed and sow those images into the mass consciousness, and then further paint anyone who agrees with you as noble, strong, righteous, and tell them that God is on their side.

This is how crusades, genocides, and world wars are begun.

Up until the day Rush Limbaugh said that he hopes the President of the United States fails, I had paid the heavy set conservative old geezer no mind. He has a right to his opinions. However, his access to a microphone doesn’t give him the right to scare his listeners.

From his web site, Rush says

“Fifty-three percent of the American people say it is likely we will enter a depression similar to the thirties. You know what that means? That means President Obama has failed to bring hope to Americans!”

What a retard! Of course people think it’s likely we will experience another Depression. For millions of us, we ALREADY ARE! But to say Americans no longer have hope shows how out of touch and ignorant Mr. Limbaugh is. And if he loves the American people as he claims to, he would not be injecting his morbid “it’s the end of the world” attitude on everyone. Rather, he would get the hell out of his office and start doing something positive to help the country.

President Obama has made an appearance every day since taking office. We know he is working and not sitting on his ass. He uses TV, radio and the Internet to make contact with Americans. Why? Because he knows we need proof that someone is working on the problems.

The previous 8 years under President Bush were nothing more than lies, cover ups, deception and a bunch of men sneaking blow jobs in bathrooms. As if they didn’t learn from Bill and Monica. They did not.

I am not a young person. I am not starving to death. I’m at no risk of losing my home. I have lots of sex. With one man. I want to live for a long time. I want to eat. I want to pay my bills. I enjoy my little town. I know the store clerks. I read books. I also use Google. I read news online.

I love this country and have no tolerance for some big mouth attention seeking whining big baby on the radio determined to bring down hope. What right does he have to lower our confidence in ourselves? Our elected leaders? They just got into office for God’s sake!

I want no part of the Conservative Party. Get off your asses and get to work! Scaring the hell out of everyone does nobody any good and I can hardly believe people don’t have the sense to see how sick Rush Limbaugh is. If he is your leader and hero, then by all means, God help you.

God blessed the rest of us with hearts and brains.

Just because the muppet, Oscar the Grouch, is cute and lovable doesn’t mean that people who act like Oscar are cute and lovable too. Really, those of you who are negative 99.999% of the time … stop. Please.

Let’s take a look at just a slice of this negativity.

You complain because your DVR only lets you record two shows at once and you want to record three. So to make you happy (yeah, right), someone buys a SECOND DVR that you can hook up to your own private TV in your own private room. Voila! Problem solved right? You’re happy now, right?

Silly me. No, of course you’re not happy. Now you’re unhappy because you can only watch that 3rd show that you recorded in your own little private space. You can’t watch it out in the den where the other two shows you recorded can be watched on the other DVR. /sigh…

Multiply that little scenario by however many minutes there are in each and every day, and that’s you – every moment of your life.

• Never happy about ANYTHING.
• Never satisfied with ANYTHING.
• Nothing is ever good enough.
• No one else is ever smart enough.

Every good, precious, blessed moment that ever happens is going to somehow be wrapped up in a cold, wet blanket by you.

And the kicker? You think that makes you cute.

It doesn’t. It just makes you very, very tiring to live with.

I’ve learned to share the joys of life with others because I really don’t want to hear you poo-poo every wonderful thing that I find happiness in. And that’s a shame, because life can be filled with joy and laughter, if only you stopped burying it under the sludge of negativity.
