Frank
Cre8pc’s Note: I met Frank online in the 1990’s. He has a heart the size of the universe and enough spunk and wit to keep angels and masters giggling. I’ve long admired his poetry. It’s a thrill he agreed to share with us here.
From Frank:
I am a one-man band. I play all of the instruments in my recordings, either through my synthesizer or “live.”
I started out playing trumpet in the 5th grade and played until I graduated high school. In the Army, I picked up guitar, and after my honorable discharge, I put together a band and played local coffee houses in Japan.
Once I returned to the United States, I took a couple of years of piano lessons, but the teachers weren’t teaching what I was interested in learning, so after two years of frustration, I quit taking lessons and began learning on my own.
I’ve missed having a band, and frustrated in my attempts to get one together, so I started dabbling in multi-track recording some years ago. In 2007, I started getting a little more serious about it and picked up some books on home studio mixing, sought lots of advice from friends, and I’m hopefully getting a little better at it.
